Doug Pruden of Canada holds or held nine world records in push ups, and holds thirteen Canadian records in push ups. ==History== Doug Pruden grew up in modest, somewhat athletically inclined family in Northern Alberta who which was more into team sport over individual athletic accomplishment. Although he enrolled in team sports he found his real knack was off the court or field and in the local high school weight room. Trying the heavy weights and of course doing push ups. Involvement in Team sports like hockey or soccer seemed good but Doug could not find a way to "excel in them". Doug withdrew from team sport in his late teens and adopted general fitness as his favorite and lower cost non gym way to work out and stay in shape. Doug continued that well into his 30's becoming so used to his body weight work outs such as pull ups, sit ups, and of course push ups, that he began to unofficially challenge what seemed to be not so known national records and even international world records. That was the new past time and a great way to rid himself of stress as one into youth outreach. All ready an avid cyclist, adding simple body weight exercises was a shoe in, and an alternative to the more expensive hobbies people seemed to do like stamp collecting and sports. Doing Body weight exercises gave rise to a motivation to perform greater amounts of exercise in yet shorter periods of time. Pruden tried timed challenges lasting; 1 minute, 10 minutes and even 30 minutes long, in his favorite exercise the push up, with varying results. These timed challenges were video taped so Pruden could count the push up totals during set time limits. This ultimately would lead to many organized attempts at existing world records in the coming years, from the year 2000 to the year 2008. Pruden has appeared in the Guinness World Records book 4 times, and The Book of Alternative Records 8 times. As of 2009 Pruden holds 10 world records in push ups. His many records include; one arm, one arm back of the hand, back of the (two) hands, and fist (knuckles). The most he has ever done in regular push ups is 10,000 in 8 hours. In 2005 he attempted breaking the long time British record held by Kevin Jefferson, whose 2003 UK record was 1582 back of hand push ups in one hour. Doug Pruden had a record of over 1800 in his first attempt, but the claim had errors in it and was rejected. On July 8, 2005 he reapplied to Guinness World Records for the 1 hour record. The final official count in that new record was 1781 which was accepted by Guinness. ON November 8, 2009 he did 1025 one arm back of the hand push ups in 1 hour at the Don Wheaton Family YMCA. This record still stands in 2013, and remains a testament to Doug's stamina and determination to do his very best. Doug has done over 10.5 million push ups of various types in his lifetime so far. As of 2007, Doug Pruden holds 10 current world records in push ups. Doug is also a Canadian Vice President/judge within that same records keeping agency. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Doug Pruden」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
